I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of course in the Jr.and Sr. High School levels in the past 19 years of my teaching career. Although most of them were in the subject areas of science and social studies, however, I have also taught 5-12th grade band and choir and English. I am a graduate of Cornerstone University (BA in Secondary Ed), Oakland University (MA in History) and Michigan Tech (MS in Applied Science Ed).
I have had teaching experience in both public and private schools including Bentley Schools, Valley Christian Academy, Wesleyan Christian Academy and for the past 13 years, here at Marlette Jr/Sr High School.
I strongly believe that it is my role, as a teacher, to not only present the content area, but also help students develop life long skills that will help them succeed in their future endeavors. Those skills include a love for learning, personal responsibility, organization, critical thinking and analytical thought.
I also believe that each student is unique individual, each with special skills, interests, and problems. It is my role, as their instructor, to treat each student as the unique person they are and to encourage them to overcome their problems and to best reach their potential.
